The Middle of the "seven"

Jesus in the Middle

It is no surprise that Jesus died in the middle of the "seven".

When Jesus was crucified “two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left.” Matthew 27:38. Jesus was in the middle.

Jesus reconciled Jew and Gentile in Himself. He also reconciled God and man in Himself. He is the one new man. Ephesians 2:11-18. Jesus is in the middle.

People are baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. Matthew 28:19. Jesus is in the middle.

The Middle of the "seven"

In the middle of the "seven" Jesus was crucified. He died on Passover in 31 AD. He was the Passover Lamb to whom the sanctuary system and all its sacrifices pointed.

“And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last.
Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.” Mark 15:37,38.

When Jesus died the veil in the temple was torn in two. This symbolized that the Jewish system of sacrifices and offerings had come to an end.

Jesus offered Himself as the sacrifice for our sins. The animal sacrifices pointed to Him and when He died there was no more need for animal sacrifices.

“In the middle of the ‘seven’ He will put an end to sacrifice and offering.” Daniel 9:27 (NIV).

Jesus died in the middle of the "seven" sabbatical cycle that ran from 27 AD – 34 AD.

Jesus also died in the middle of the "seven" Jubilee cycle that ran from 6 AD – 55 AD.
